Syrrptoms: When set on 50 cents per play,
gane will not always register a credit
UIX)n deIX)siting the second quarter. This
is an intermittently occuring problem.
Discrepency: A software glitch causes this
intermittent problem to surface at random
tines.
CORRECI'IONS:
tl - If the syrrptoms are present, check
I.e. 18 on the piggy back board to be sure
it is a EPR-7100A and I.e. 74 on the :nain
board is a 315-5159A. If the "A" is not
present, replace IC 18 & 74 with the "A"
version. (They IIUSt be replaced as a set.)
I.e. Sets for SHCOJ.'IR; MASTER are
available through Sega Distributors. Order
using the gane serial nunber. The I.e.
Sets will be supplied at no charge, but we
request all replaced I.C.'s be returned to
Sega Custoner Service, (via your
Distributor.
If this :nachine starts to lose it's neIOOry
and won't hold the prices you have
programned into it, it is tine to replace
the lithium battery on the board.
A new battery should neasure about 3.5
volts across its' terminals, and if it
neasures 2 volts or lower, you would be
better off replacing it.
This is the :nain problem with the 4000
series boards, second only to people
plugging in the wrong changer and blowing
some, or all, of the 120V rectifying
diodes on the board which supplies the
power to the changer.
If you, by chance, do this; sin:ply follow
the burned-off circuit traces to the
diodes and test and/or replace all four of
the diodes and wire the traces back

together.

#2 - After the I.C.'s are replaced, check
coin switch #2 to see if it is wired as
shown in drawing #2 below. If it is,
rewire coin switch #2 to terminal #5 as
shown in drawing #1 below. This will now
allow the selection, by D.I.P. switch, of
different coin/credit options for each
coin mechanism.
