COMPATIBILITY
The new Pit Boss II video game is available in
countertops, full conversion its and as a
simple board replacement in your existing
Merit game. This game has all new software
with a 10 games-in-one cabinet combina-
tion. The new CRT-250 PCB replaces the
CRT-200 PCB in all Merit cabinets. The CRT-
250 software is not compatible with the CRT-
200 software.
PROBLEM
Rockola video game power supplies. The
symptom is no output on any voltage bus.
ENHANCEMENTS
This new CRT-250 PCB has a dual video
processor with over 256k of video memory.
The board also has 512k of program mem-
ory. The bookkeeping is held by a packaged
non-volatile RAM and lithium battery com-
bination. (The older CRT-200 had separate
battery and 6264 RAM.) All questions are
written in the program and there is no aux-
iliary PCB (CRT-205A) used with the CRT-
250. (The CRT-205A held the question
Eproms on the older CRT-200.)
HARDWARE
The new universal countertop cabinet has a
13" Wells-Gardner monitor that easily con-
verts from horizontal to vertical for future
use. (Remove the 4 screws that hold the tube
and simply change the angle of the tube.)
The cabinet opens from the top and bottom
rear areas for service and maintenance. This
cabinet was designed by technicians who
can appreciate easy troubleshooting of elec-
tronic components in a countertop game.If
you have any questions regarding the Pit
Boss II, call Merit Industries Customer Serv-
ice toll free at 1-800-445-9353.
SOLUTION
Replace electrolytic capacitors at the follow-
ing locations: C6, C7 (220uF/16V) and C20
(2.2uF /S0V).
NOTE
If you still have some of these games around,
this is a quick fix and will get the piece back
out on location. These caps will check bade
and it would be a good idea to check the rest -
of the caps used in these supplies just for
good measure. Replace these and any caps
that fail, due to heat, with a higher tempera-
ture rated capacitor. These replacements
are readily available from any parts supply.

Murphy's Law #103
In any bureaucracy, paperwork increases as
you spend more and more time reporting o
the less and less you are doing. Stability L
achieved when you spend all of your time
reporting on the nothing you are doing.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
