Joysticks: Williams' Robotron loves Suzo
and Wico updates microswitch type soon.
SUZO REPLACEMENT
A pizzeria player group so loved the video
Robotron for $60 /wk that we decided to
refurbish it with the new Suzo inductive
joystick. We ran into a few problems: An
overvoltage condition, discovered during
shop time, of 6.4 volts (thanks to the goofy
original power supply) was the cause of
- tuttering of the firing and directions. But,
once we spotted that and installed a new
Hitron power supply, the joysticks are the
BEST that we've ever played in the game!
END RESULTS
We just recently delivered back to the pizze-
ria, and our best player on location con-
firmed that it felt better than new! Thanks
Suzo! We also have a Suzo on a Konami Life
Force, which has about 3 months use with
no problems so far. Star Force (which tends
to eat up switches andjoysticks) will be due
for Suzos on the next replacement schedule.
WICO MICROSWITCH JOYSTICKS
Wico's Rick Sonnickson is working on a
tougher actuator to replace the soft ones
currently used on the Wico 8-way mi-
croswitch joysticks. This major improve-
ment will make this the best microswitch
Ajoystick on the market today for the Coin-Op
YJ:ndustry, in my opinion.
