Cinematronics "Star Castle" V3 Roms
Cinematronics has developed a version 3 (V3) program for their
"Star Castle" game. This new program will increase the speed of
the "Space Mines" at 15,000 points.
At 20,000 points the "Space Mines" speed will increase again,
making them faster than the players' ship.
All new games being manufactured now will include the V3 Roms.
Older "Star Castle" games can be upgraded by purchase of the
new V3 program. Contact your distributor for availability or
Cinematronics Customer Service at 800-854-6577.

Atari "Asteroids" Switch Maintenance by Todd Erickson
Most service calls on this game and others such as "Rip Off",
"Star Castle", "Carnival", etc. are from dirty switches. Most of the
dirt is not dirt but plastic from the buttons themselves. Some of
the buttons have metal washers under the "E" clip. These chaff
the button. The blades themselves have a sharp edge which cuts
the button. These small flakes of plastic will float in the air and
end up on the points.
If the button has the washers, I recommend removing the metal
washers or installing a new button. Secondly, install fish paper
between the button and point.

o
by Craig Miller
If dragging records are a problem, try the following:
1. Replace rubber idler wheel. (Do not lose "E" clip!)
2. Clean rubber deposits from inside flange of turntable.
3. Clean out turntable drive motor.
a. Remove 3 "E" clips from mounting posts.
b. Remove 5/16" nuts from motor assembly bolts.
c. Remove dust and lint from inside motor and clean bushings in
both motor plates.
d. Replace motor with original "E" clips.
Note:
Do not put oil in hole for turntable as it will be funnelled into auto-
mix switch.
