Two Big Piano Manufacturing Companies
Join Forces of Industry Encouraging Events
—Other Important Promotional Facts.
The Straube Piano Co., Hammond, Ind., and the
H. C. Bay Company, Chicago, have joined the group
of houses and individuals connected with the music
business in Greater Chicago and vicinity who are con-
tributing to the support of the Annual Greater Chi-
cago Children's Piano Playing Tournament. This
brings the total number of contributors up to 54 and
the total sum subscribed to exactly $17,000.
An official button and an identification card for con-
testants in the tournament have been prepared by the
promoters. The emblem is a neat design in black
and blue on a white ground and shows a grand
piano with the legend, "Chicago Piano Tournament,
1927.' The identification card is perfected when

Members of the Musicians' Federation of Chicago
have offered to act as judges in the preliminaries of
the Annual Greater Chicago Children's Piano Playing
Tournament.
It is the intention of the judges' committee, headed
by PVederick Stock, Glen Dillard Gunn and Herman
Devries, that the judges should be made up of leaders
of orchestras and their members.
The preliminary tests will begin about April 1 and
will continue throughout the entire month. These
piano tests will be held in the auditorium of the vari-
ous parochial and public schools as well as in neigh-
borhood halls.
