Besides carrying various dance arrangements,
each number in the folio is accompanied with
ukulele arrangement. These make it most
modern in character and will add to its sales.

kinds, which demonstrates that many dealers do
strive to enlarge the sales of their popular de-
partments.
One of the latest ideas and one that is quite
original is from the Poppler Piano Co., Grand
Forks, N. D. This firm, in recent months, has
been sending through its mailing list mimeo-
graphed sheets carrying a thematic of part of a
chorus of popular numbers together with one or
two lines of the words, just enough to remind
the recipient of the number he has already heard
or sufficient material for the pianist to grasp
its significance. The idea originated with Elmer
G. Uggen, of the company.
Of course, popular music is all copyrighted
and it would not do for a retailer or any other
person to make an extensive use of mimeo-
graphing music of this character. As long, how-
ever, as only a very small portion of the theme
is used, there will doubtless be no complaint.
In this instance the creator of the idea used a
smaller portion of the thematic than would ap-
pear on the back cover of a piece of popular
music. Therefore, he would hardly be charged
with an infringement. The idea is quite good
and the above is only stated so that the copy-
right angle is brought before others who may
desire to carry out such inexpensive propaganda.
It might also be stated that the Poppler Piano
Co. found this form of calling attention to popu-
lar sheet music a profitable method of creating
sales.
Sam Perry and His Harmonica Pals are now
arranging a program of popular songs which
will shortly be heard over station WEAF and
its co-operative chain. Among the songs they
have already decided to use are "Susie's Feller,"
"Elsie Shultz-en-heim" and "I'm On My Way
Home," the latter the newest number by Irving
Berlin. Besides Sam Perry, Harmonica Pals in-
clude twelve boys and girls from the different
public schools of the city of New York. '
Jack Mills on Trip
Jack Mills, head of Jack Mills, Inc., is away
on a sales trip through New England territory.
He is introducing the new song novelty "When
Banana Skins Are Falling" (I'll Come Sliding
Back to You) and his firm's more legitimate of-
ferings "I Don't Mind Being All Alone," and
"If You Can't Tell the World She's a Good
Little Girl."
