given to the work of Jerome Keit, head of the
New York office, and secretary and general man-
ager of the company. Mr. Keit has been with
Jerome H. Remick & Co. since he was a boy
and his indefatigable work has brought him
recognition not only in the Remick organization,
but in every branch of the publishing trade.

BRING SUIT OVER "AVALON'
(i. Ricordi & Co. have brought suit in the
Federal District Court to secure an injunction
against the further printing or selling of the
song "Avalon," credited to Al. Jolson and Vin-
cent Rose, charging that the music of the popular
number is the same as the aria in the last act of
Puccini's "La Tosca," for which the plaintiffs
hold the copyright.

Henry R. Stern, who composes under the
name of S. R. Henry and who has contributed
such works as "Little Miss Charity," "In-
dianola," "Kentucky Dream" and other suc-
