Success of Jerome H. Remick & Co. Due to
Caliber of Songs and Hard Work Back of
Them, Under Jerome Keit's Direction
Jerome H. Remick & Co. have had an excep-
tionally active catalog for the past few seasons.
This year the popularity of their numbers lias
created a new high mark in the publishing field.
While it is true that much of the firm's suc-
cess can be credited, without doubt,. to the

caliber of the sonys published, its position is
also maintained through the work of the or-
ganization which Jerome H. Remick, the presi-
dent of the company, has gathered together.
In this regard much consideration must be
given to the work of Jerome Keit, head of the
New York office, and secretary and general man-
ager of the company. Mr. Keit has been with
Jerome H. Remick & Co. since he was a boy
and his indefatigable work has brought him
recognition not only in the Remick organization,
but in every branch of the publishing trade.

in.n the past two seasons. At the present time
"Avalon," "Japanese Sandman,"
"Beautiful
Annabell Lee," "Just Like a Gypsy" and "Rose"
are leading in popularity, closely followed by
such songs as "Now 1 Lay Me Down to Sleep,"
"Dearest One," "Springtime," "Nightingale"
and "I Want to Be the Leader of the Band."
BRING SUIT OVER "AVALON'
(i. Ricordi & Co. have brought suit in the
Federal District Court to secure an injunction
against the further printing or selling of the
song "Avalon," credited to Al. Jolson and Vin-
cent Rose, charging that the music of the popular
number is the same as the aria in the last act of
Puccini's "La Tosca," for which the plaintiffs
hold the copyright.
