LONTON, E N C , July 31.—Infringement of copy-
right was alleged against Caruso, the famous tenor,
in the Chancery Division last month. Dighton
Pollock, on behalf of Mme. Meyerheim, the plain-
tiff in an action against Signor Caruso and John
Church & Co., publishers, moved for an injunction
to restrain the defendant company from infringing
the copyright in a book written by the plaintiff
called "L'Art du Chant Technique."
Counsel said that the book written by Signor
Caruso and printed by the defendant company con-
tained several pages taken from the plaintiff's book,
and it was entitled "How to Sing."
Mr. Manning, for the company, said it knew
nothing about this claim until it received the writ.
The company purchased the copyright in the work
not from Caruso, but from another company.
The court made an order in accordance with an
undertaking given by the company.
