W e are happy to announce an export connection through which
we will distribute the AU TOM ATIC AGE each month in large
quantities to Latin American trade. The Latin American dealers
and operators are a genial group of people with whom it is a
pleasure to do business. They are inclined to study their fields a
bit more closely and their methods and manners are of genuine
politeness and hospitality.
Our readers will note a section printed in Spanish which will be
carried each month. The market for American made coin-oper-
ated-machines is growing in Latin American countries. Several
conditions make this a desirable trade outlet. The similarity of
coins used enables a manufacturer to supply this market with very
little change in manufacturing processes. The market for confec­
tions is growing according to all reports. Chewing gum has not
been so popular in those countries, due more to the lack of educa­
tion in that field. Operators tell us, however, that the better
quality of American made gum, both stick and ball gum, is gaining
ground. The best market, so we are told, is in the amusement
machine line, particularly in penny and five cent machines. Sales
