PROBLEM
This is simple. The car has
disappeared. (Note: This is a
follow up to the article I wrote
in Star Techjournal on Chase
HQinJuly, 1995, page 13.)

for under $10. Simply order
Mars harness (part number
01-12-13). This harness is
available from Happ Con-
trols for $8.00 (Happ number
42-7057-00) .

MISSING AGAIN
There is a solution to this
problem. The game software
for the Mars harness already
installed in the game will not
accumulate enough credits
for $2 and $5 bills. However,
the coin switch software will
accumulate enough credits to
use $2 and $5 bills.
This is a four-wire harness
that installs in minutes. Plug
the connector into your Mars
validator and connect as fol-
lows:

• Locate IC 7 on the top
PCB board (B52-01,
63S441 or 82S129) with
the car moving on the
screen.
• Check pins 1 to 7, and
pins 11 and 12 for activ-
ity using a logic probe
or o'scope.
• Pins 8, 9, 10, 13 and
15 should be low and
pin 16 high. Any other
output on these pins
means that this part has
failed.
• Check IC35 on the
bottom PC board. If it
fails, the symptom is the
same -the car will disap-
pear as well.
