SYMPTOM
UNDER COVER
At the start of each ball, if you
select the launch probe section
and if it goes to the right gun and
if the neutral zone is your target,
the gun will not fire until you're
out of line with the target. In
battle simulation, the right gun
works great on the neutral zone.
Changed CPUs, driver board,
, ,the gun & the harness to no help.
TROUBLESHOOTING
I have seen a couple of problems
in this area. The optic that "sees"
the ball ready to shoot could be
not working or intermittent. I
imagine a defective or intermit-
tent "mark" switch could do
something like that also.
NOTE
I
When checking "mark" and
"home" switches do NOT use the
switch test -they will never show
up there. Go to the individual
launcher tests and run the can-
nons back and forth.
II
One other problem I have seen
is wires getting broken either in
the cannon or in the wiring that
Wioes to the cannon from below
the playfield. The breaks are usu-
ally at the component or where
the harness passes thru the playfield.
NOTE
Does this make sense? Current
system PCBs are in a sealed plas-
tic case. But when you open the
sealed case, not only do you void
your warranty but what appears
there is nothing more than a glo-
rified Street Fighter //PCB!
30 DAYS
The boards have sockets, like
many other board sets, but if
. there should be a loose chip on
Capcom's PCBs they must be
returned to the factory because
they're sealed. Typical turn-
around times at the factory are
the better part of a month. All this
for a loose chip.
WARRANTY?
Think that's good? Now the best
part. Capcom is covering the
boards under warranty for one
year, but nobody knows about it.
Call your distributor. Most likely
he'll say the same thing mine did,
"The warranty is 90 days,
Capcom never told us any differ-
ent." Evidently no documenta-
tion was ever forwarded to the
distributor. Hmmm ...
