PROBLEM
Why not have 3 - 5 chutes
on our best games like
Cruisin'. A full upright
should be able to accommo-
date 6 - 12 coin chutes. But
when a customer loses his
coin, the location will still
place your new 10 coin
chute game out of order!

ceived a new Mars coin mech
called Cash Flow. I dropped a
large house key in the Cash Flow
and it fell right through! Impres-
sive.
Coin jams are about a
third of our total service
calls. The day is here when
we as game operators can no
longer tolerate this incompe-
tency from our industry.
Other proper synonyms might
be ignorance or stupidity. Our
customers who lose their money
and walk away from our games
(walk-aways) is about to end.
After a little more playing with
it, I installed it on a new pinball.
The results are in: No coin jams
in a little over a year! I repeat: No
CoinJams in Over a Year!
Now, several factors determine
coin jams. First is a magnet, sec-
ond is stopping the coin for any
reason -such as a cradle, and third
is the size of the items the coin
mech can clear. Common sense tells
us that if you never stop a coin, it
can't jam. About a year ago, I re-
Would this be a good mech for a
game like Cruisin'? My distribu-
tor doesn't think so. He says
eliminating coin jams is not a fac-
tor in determining whether a
Cash Flow is worth it. Of course:
it's not him driving 50 -100 miles
on a Friday night to clear a jam.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
