SOLUTION
Well, I never thought an
old theme like Star Wars
would perform so well, but
it is a terrific game. The
only problem I see is the
ramp shot being too easy.
The players go around and
around and then complain
that the extra ball is not
available. (From them hitting
it too often and the game self
adjusting.)
Remove the target from the
playfield and bend the front
blade with the target at-
tached, forward. Just bending
the rear blade back will cause
poor contact due to the rubber
pad.
I hate to say it but, these tar-
gets are NO GOOD. They are
cracking and breaking after a
few weeks on location and
will have to be replaced
sooner or later.
GAME LENGTH
Game times have tended to be
much too long and the posts
are adjusted to full conserva-
tive. I replaced the heavy black
ring on the right outlane post
with a thin white ring and that
has cut about 10 seconds off of
the average game time. I've
got it down to 4 mins, 10 secs.
PROBLEM
Score inflation; machine keeps
asking you to raise replay lev-
els. We have 2 Star Wars and
both of them developed switch
vibration scoring in the yellow
rectangle "X-Wing" targets.

BUMPERS
I hate to say it but,
these targets are
NO GOOD. They
are cracking and
breaking ...
2 suggestions: The
bumper switches are too
insensitive or dirt prone
which is causing lousy
bumper action. They mis-
fire or are too weak too
often. It's a shame because
they make the rest of the game
look bad.
In addition, the 555 lamps
burn out in days. I suggest
Data East turn the lamp off
when the bumper fires to pre-
vent the hot filament from
breaking.
