SOLUTION
SUBJECT
Hantarex MTC9110 25" Monitor
and other times only after it's
been shut down for a day.
SYMPTOM
Intermittent loss of video, self
correcting.
We are currently running a large
number of Street Fighter II
Championship Editions and our
operators are complaining that
some units are temporarily losing
video for short periods of time.

dometimes the monitor restarts
voluntarily (free will at work?)
I had a gut feeling (thanks to a
came asada burrito with extra
guacamole) that it might be the
overvoltage protection kicking
in, so I snipped D10 on the moni-
tor board and ~ola" -no more
shutdown.
... you should add a 10k resistor in
series with D10. It appears that
the secondary voltages that the
25" monitor generates are 10% -
15% higher than that of the
MTC9000 chassis after which the
9110 is modeled and may be caus-
ing random intermittent shut-
down.
But since I didn't want to be sued
by a 12 year old as the cause for
his future sterility, I called
Hantarex and found out that ...
