SYMPOOM
PROBLEM
Finding F112 (5 amp slo-blo) fuse
blown. This fuse is located on the
Power Driver board. Replacing
the fuse, you find that the circuit
holds, only to come back to find it
blown a week or two later.
According to the service manual,
the error codes in self-test for this
machine are of the "9x" variety.
The only reason we could find for
these error codes seems to be that
the rear (back or bottom) title
holder seems to stick against the
back of the stack of holders as is
slides through the back ( or bot-
tom) transfer slot.

CAUSE
The factory has mislabeled and
installed the wrong size fuse. It
should be a 7 amp slo-blo.
SOLUTION
I found this problem after install-
ing several fuses and finally run-
ning an amperage check on that
line. I found that it would draw
close to 5 amps during Multi-Ball
play.
I thought this might be a close
tolerance and called the factory
on it. My suspicions were con-
firmed. When more than two flip-
pers are used a 5 amp fuse is
inadequate, the fuse rating
needed to protect this line should
be a ·7 amp slo-blo. Mark your
game.
BOTOOM LINE
When in doubt, call the factory
customer service technicians.
Unfortunately, there is little you
can do to prevent the occasional
jam, but there are a few tricks you
can employ.
FIRST
• The mechanism requires some
type oflubrication. When remov-
ing the title cards, stack them
like a deck of cards and tilt the
stack slightly to expose the slider
tongues of the cards. Carefully
apply Armor-All (or similar prod-
uct) to the exposed tongue area.
Use this sparingly so that it does
not seep into the title strips them-
selves.
• Next, we apply Amor-All to ex-
posed interior top button and to
the sides of the transfer casing.
• Reinstall the title strips.

You should now notice an imme-
diate improvement in speed and
smoothness of overall operation.
SECOND
When moving the Juke, the~
weight of the cards can cause the
bottom card to dislodge into the
transfer slot. Care for this is quite
simple.
• Before moving the Juke, oper-
ate the title transfer button while
holding onto the clutched drive
motor shaft.
• Stop the shaft when the top
card is halfway across the deck by
hand and unplug the main cable.
With the top and bottom transfer
slots occupied, the stacks won't
move.
Simplyplugthe title holder board
cable back in before restoring
power at the new location. In our
opinion, NSM should hav~ pro-
vided this function.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
