SUBJECT
Most of us are aware by now that Hantarex
MTC9000 monitors will not lock vertically if com-
posite sync is applied to both sync pins ( #5 and 6 on
CA connector).
1
The solution to this as previously published is to
apply composite sync to the horizontal sync pin
only. This works fine, but wouldn't it be nice to
make the monitors compatible and interchange-
able with the rest of the industry?
• Simple & Quick to Install • Inexpensive
SOLUTION
~
SoLUTION2
The addition of a couple of luf capacitors to the
monitor board permits standard sync connections.
PlloCEDURE
Lift one end of R25. Attach a luf capacitor to the
lifted end and solder the other end of the capacitor
to the vacated hole. Solder a similar 1 uf capacitor
across R35. You should now experience a solid
vertical lock and one less strain on your brain.
NOTE
I used 50v film type capacitor, but I don't think the
voltage or the material is a big factor.
