SUBJECT
TESTING
STAR*TECH Journal has provided me with this
test set for evaluation. I was impressed and I
would like to show my appreciation to the com-
pany Two Bit Score (512/282-9369) for their
thorough coverage of operation of their Bally/
Stern test set in the blue book which accompa-
nies it.
At this point, if you do have an MPU problem, the
instructions require you to use a logic probe
(they also give instructions as to how to use this
probe) to proceed further. Once you make it past
the self-check and are in the idle mode, the
switch matrix comes into play. Instructions
guide you as to how to proceed.

operation of their unit, I was impressed at the
way they explained everything and dropped bits
of knowledge which also helped to further their
point. These folks are ve:ry dedicated to helping
the field technician properly diagnose problems
in a pinball.
PINBALL GAMES
The Bally/Stem test fJXture will cover 1977-
1984 games. I'm an old Bally test fixture man
myself and after using these units I liked them.
There's a lot of reading with the manual the first
time I used it, but I probably did the same with
my unit 8 years ago.

OPERATION
Basically it's this way. You have two separate
pieces, a test ROM board which attaches to JS,
the top connector, and a switch matrix board
which connects with J2 of the MPU.

Sm TEST
The test ROM board is what you probably will
use most because it does most of what my Bally
test fJXture does - eliminate the game Roms and
substitute its own program for the MPU to run.
Two Bit Score's test Rom has the same flash code
as the original Bally check so there's no need to
learn a new code.

on this test fixture ...
