Now that both STAR*TECH Journal and
PlayMeter have published the AMOA Stan-
dards Compliance Checklist, it is possible to
get a handle on which manufacturers are
serious about helping operators cut their
service overhead (which will leave operators
more bottom line cash in which to make new
game purchases).

If you would take just 5 or 10 minutes to rate one of your recent games,
it will eventually put cold, hard cash in your pocket down the line.
I have recently met with.MMA President, Gil
Pollock and .MMA Executive Director, Bob
Fay and both have promised that .MMA will
appoint a "Sub-Standardization Commit-
tee" to work with the AMOA Standardization
Committee. As of today, Ray Musci of Data
East has not formally accepted the position
of chairman, but I'm hoping that he does.
Having an .MMA committee is a major step
in the right direction. At present, the AMOA
Standardization Committee meets twice a
year at the trade shows. From now on,
discussions on standardization between
AMOA and .MMA will take place frequently.
On the downside, I have been on vacation for
the past three weeks (to get away from my
business, AMOA, and the magazines) and
haven't much to report on the checklist. So
far the following reports have into
STAR*TECH Journal:

Help us out and do a checklist (re-published
on the next page) for the betterment of the
Industry. It really only takes about 5 - 10
minutes to complete. Send the reports to
STAR*TECH Journal, PO Box 1065, Mer-
chantville, NJ 08109.
