IGT and Electrosport Poker Mem.ory Fix
Loyal Kuhn
CAS Limited/Coin Amusement Service
Salem, Oregon
PROBLEM #1
Loss of memory causes the game to be much
too liberal. This can be caused by the loca-
tion unplugging the game overnight, some-
one turning off the switch on the cabinet, a
weak or dead battery, or removing the PC
board from the game for service.
PROBLEM #2
The nickel cadmium battery leaks corrosive
fluid onto the PC board causing foil and
component damage.
PROBLEM #3
The game sometimes fails while it is being
played. The player may falsely claim that he
had a large number of credits at the time of
the failure, for which he would like a refund.
SOLUTION
Our need to solve these problems on our own
machines inspired this solution. All these
problems are associated with the battery
back-up memory circuit. We developed a
plug-in memory module that completely
replaces the 2111 memory chip, and the
nickel cadmium battery.
Instead of the 8 hour or so memory life of the
original circuit, this new module's memory
life may reach 10 to 15 years, or beyond, on
its replaceable internal battery.
This module can be unplugged and moved to
a like game, with data intact. This allows
viewing of the last screen played, and it also
transfers the odds data.
AVAILABILITY
We are now making our 2111NV SUPER
MEMORY MODULE available to our fellow
operators. If your having these type prob-
lems and you need the solution, call us. For
more information, please refer to our ad in
the Marketplace section in this issue.
