CRANES: Another Response
From Showcase Inc.
By Ronald H. Yaffe, o.o.

"The continuing saga of who makes the best
crane game."
Well, Frank 'The Crank' Seninsky has
certainly gotten crankier lately. As an
author for several periodicals in our
industry, I would have thought his
articles would have been more open and
fact oriented. His facts are so distorted,
that I for one, am certainly questioning
his credibility now.
Recently on a trip to Virginia, I stopped
by South of the Border Motel and found the
SH western bar. The bartender stated to me
that the SH getting lots of play. I located Victor
Cook of Modem Music in a maintenance
building with several "PCX)R CHOICE" cranes
from Belgium. Mr. Cook was very upset
because he had to re-build most of them
because of poor wiring, electroncis, and
poor quality lights that were Belgium
made.
One of his "PCX)R CHOICES" had an
electrical fire and he threw away hundreds
of dollars worth of plush because the
snoke had irrpregnated the toys. Modem
Music did purchase one of the first
prototypes from Showcase Inc., and I told
Mr. Cook at the time that we would be glad
to convert it to our production model. The
offer still stands.
"The Crank" should have called Showcase
Inc. before writing his article so he
could state the facts correctly (it's even
a toll free nunber l-800-64CRANE). Here
are the facts:
1.) SHCMC'ASE Crane sports a "tire" type of
roller that is very sturdy and should
never need replacing. These tires are what
the carousel rotate on.
2.) our largest deluxe SH 7" wider than the "PCX)R CHOICE", not 10"
as Frank stated (do your homework Frank),
and it fits through every standard door.
November 1986 (10)
3.) our game is on four rollers for easy
naneuverability,
~
4.) is rruch more of an "eye grabber" with
our innovative carousel and
interchangeable marquees.
5.) Scratch resistant plexi windows are
rruch lighter and safer than the glass
windows used in other cranes (including
the Belgium nade cranes). I heard of one
instance where a glass in a crane game
shattered and cut an individual standing
near-by.
6.) It is so sinple to work on (even to
replacing motors that are from w. w.
Grainger), that even a housewife can
repair the SHCWCASE Crane with just a
screwdriver.
7.) SHClvCASE Cranes have been reported to
earn more then other cranes (including the
"PCX)R CHOICE") when placed side by side.
Frank admitted to never having "tested the
waters". (If you would like references
~
just call me on our toll free nunber

CPFER
Showcase Inc. would like to extend Frank
an invitation to visit with us at our
factory in beautiful Sarasota, Florida. We
will put you up in a lovely cedar villa
that is close to our factory and the Gulf
of Mexico. Here, we can work out the
details for Frank to try our crane, and he
can see first hand how we construct our
cranes.
