NINTENDO
"DONKEY KONG JR." SPEED UP/DOWN KITS
Nintendo has released two versions of their recent hit
video game "Donkey Kong Jr." Both versions are
ROM changes and are available through their
distributor network.
The speed up version increases the speed of play
and is otherwise identical to the original. The speed
down version decreases the speed of the game so it is
easier to play. In addition, the speed down version
shows the four different screens in order first time
through.
Contact your Nintendo distributor for further
information, pricing and availability.
NEWS BITS/FLAT
Low-cost flat computer displays
about two years away
Everyone wants a cheap, low-power flat
panel display; development has been
steady but slow. Sharp's high-priced
electroluminescent panel (used in the Grid
Systems portable computer) goes into
COMPUTER DISPLAYS
production this spring. It costs four times
as much as a CRT and consumes half
as much power. Liquid crystal displays
combine low cost and low power. While
Sharp has made a prototype 16 line by 80
column LCD display, it says a full-size 24
x 80 LCD screen is not expected before
1984.
