RCA VICTOR HAS NEW NATIONAL ANTHEM RECORD
Of course, you know. It's T H E STAR SPANGLED BAN-
NER, and AMERICA (My Country T i s of Thee) . . . every
stirring word, every thrilling note, that mean more today, to every
American, than any other words or music ever written . . . spe-
cifically a glorious new Victor record of these words and music.
Tt was made by Lucy Monroe, known as "the star-spangled so-
prano." Miss Monroe is a direct descendant of James Monroe,
fifth President of the United States. She has been chosen to sing
"The Star Spangled Banner" on more than 800 patriotic occa-
sions—Armistice Day at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier ; Presi-
dential inaugurations; and many other public events.
Here are some phrases from the anthems: "O thus be it ever,
when freemen shall stand. Between their loved homes and war's
desolation!" "Blessed with Victory and Peace, may the heaven-
rescued land Praise the Power that has made and preserved us
a nation!" "Author of Liberty, to Thee we sing. Long may our
land be bright with Freedom's holy light !" "The Star Spangled
Manner in triumph shall wave, o'er the land of the free and the
home <>l the brave."
