Pan-American instruments are also distributed b
the Southern California Music Company, Los Angeles,
but a representative of this company was unable to
be present.
The distributors were entertained at a dinner given
at Hotel Elkhart the evening of January 8.
National distributors of Pan-American instru-
ments, at their annual meeting at the Pan-American
factory, Elkhart, Ind., January 8-9, pledged a more
rigid policy regarding discounts on band instruments.
To carry out this policy, distributors agreed to sell
instruments only to bona fide dealers with stores.

heretofore existed in which wholesale discounts have

been allowed to teachers of studios, music super-

fers in the dealers' windows, distributing counter
cards and complete window displays of Pan-Ameri-
can instruments.

seems that Mr. Byrne has been a victim of the
weather, for what began as a bad cold developed into
something like pleurisy. On the day of Presto-
Times correspondent's call—Tuesday of this week—
it was reported that he was on the mend and that
he might be looked for at his office in a few days.
