methods embodied in the Curtis system.
Miss Helen Curtis, originator of the Curtis system,
described its growth and development, its popularity
with musicians, teachers, supervisors and musical
organizations, schools and conservatories in various
parts of the country.

dents in the Trade Activities.
The Cote Piano Co., Fall River, Mass., will soon
move from its present location at 162 North Main
street to a new store at 212 Pleasant street.
The Frelinge Music House, Lafayette, Ind., has
moved from Columbus street to 654 Main street in
the Ross Building.
Miss Isabella Van Ness, Fourth and Walnut streets,
recently opened for business in Mansfield, Ohio, with
a line of musical instruments and supplies.
Krausgill Piano Co., 309 West Walnut street,
Louisville, Ky., has leased the adjoining storerooms,
307-11 West Walnut street.
Russell J. Franck, 1340 Park avenue, Alameda, Cal.,
is the successor to the music business of Max Franck
& Son.
The Sterling Piano Co., of 81 Court street, Brook-
lyn, N. Y., has leased the store and basement at
Main street and Madison avenue, Flushing, L. I.,
and will add a new unit in its chain of piano and
radio stores.
The Cleveland Talking Machine Co., Cleveland,
Ohio, which conducts a talking machine business on
Rockwell avenue, N. E., has leased the entire fifth
and sixth floors of the building at 4300 Euclid.
The Ellison Piano House, Buffalo, N. Y., has
rented the store at 72 Broadway, Hornell, N. Y., and
will open a new branch music store.
Bush, founder of the Bush Conservatory of Chicago,
where Miss Curtis is head of the class piano depart-
ment. He told of the splendid work in the public
and parochial as well as private children's grade
schools throughout the city and suburbs and predicted
that in a few years class piano instruction would
become a major study in every up-to-date school.
Four Kimball grands, used for the recital, grouped
on the improvised stage, gave a finishing touch and
formed a fine background to the beautiful floral pieces
and decorations. These fine pianos gave great musical
effect and provided a perfect medium for the rendi-
tion of a splendid program.
