The Gaveau is one of the several great European
pianos in which the Anipico is now obtainable. Its
introduction to the music lovers and critics of Paris
was accomplished at a soiree at the beautiful Salle
Gaveauc last month at which the playing of Maudice
Dumesnil was heard in direct comparison to its re-
production by the Ampico. The demonstration was
extensively reviewed by the press which unanimously
acclaimed the Ampico as the perfect reproducing
instrument.

It is a curious coincidence that this remarkable girl

The music critics of all the Paris papers wrote in
similar vein.
The limited seating capacity of the Gaveau hall
made it impossible to receive all who wished to hear
this interesting demonstration of the Ampico so that
three additional recitals were subsequently arranged
so that all those who desired to hear the demonstra-
tion might do so. Similar demonstrations with Mr.
Dumesnil were held at the American University Club,
Salle des Fetes du "Journal," Cercle de l'Union Ar-
tistiques, Cercle Internallie, Salle des Quatuors and
other places in Paris and its environments. The re-
cital is invariably prefaced by short remarks by Mr.
Dumesnil explaining the mechanism and its value to
the contemporary pianists in preserving their art for
posterity and its universal application to music lovers
to whom it brings the whole repertoire of the piano
played by the greatest artists available.
