NEW SHERMAN, CLAY & CO'S.
STORE IN CHEHALIS, WASH.
BALDWINS FOR POLYTECHNIC
Special Plans to Suit Business Carried Out in Con-
struction of New Building.
Sherman, Clay & Co. has leased the C. A. Moore
building in Chehalis, Wash., and expect to open a
larger and better store in that city than ever before.
The new store is to be modern in every way, and
in many ways meet the needs of the company. Ad-
justments on the. company's recent heavy fire loss
have been made and while the new building is being
constructed the company will temporarily conduct
its business in the Brunswig building on Chehalis
avenue. All the fire damaged stock has been sent
away, and an entirely new stock has been sent to
Chehalis.
Final arrangements for the local store were made
recently when R. E. Robinson of Seattle, general
manager for the Pacific coast; H. T. Campbell of
Tacorria and W. V. Jeffers of Seattle were in Che-
halis. Mr. Jeffers is to have charge in the Chehalis
territory, and will move his family to that city. Miss
Beulah Brown of Bellingham, experienced in phono-
graphs and records, is to move to Chehalis and have
charge of that department of the business.
SPECIAL FILMS FOR
MUSIC WEEK EVENTS
Incidents in Life of Great Composers Dramatized for
Screen with Suitable Synchronized Music.
The lives of the great composers have been drama-
tized for the screen by Producer Fitzpatrick in his
Famous Music Masters series and each subject is
synchronized with a score of the composer's own
music. Each score is issued so that it may be played
by a symphony orchestra or an individual at the
piano or organ. The films are for use during Music
Week, May 6 to 12.
Composers whose lives and music have inspired
Famous Music Master films are: Mendelssohn, Bee-
thoven, Bizet, Liszt, Chopin, Handel, Wagner, Haydn,
Mozart, Balfe, Verdi, Nevin, Strauss, Schumann,
Rossini, Brahms and Gounod. Inspired by the inter-
national interest in the Franz Schubert Centennial
being celebrated this year. Mr. Fitzpatrick traveled
to Vienna and there made an authentic picturization
of the most notable incidents in the life of the com-
poser, who is portrayed in the film of Franz Slavicek,
of the Vienna Opera Company.
Local music clubs throughout the country are ar-
ranging to have the Famous Music Masters play a
prominent part in their National Music Week pro-
grams.
The Polytechnic Institute, Ruston, La., is most en-
thusiastic about the three Baldwin grand pianos and
fourteen Hamilton upright pianos just purchased for
the music department. Reading from left to right

There may be other things we can do besides sell
you some pianos!"

THE JEWETT PIANOS
Reliable Grand, Upright and Player Pianos
JEWETT PIANO CO., Boston Factories: Leominster, Mass.
Among the most notable decorations in honor of
the German and Irish fliers who recently made the
first east to west flight across the Atlantic were those
of the Wessell, Nickel & Gross factory at 10th
avenue and West 45th street. On their way to the
Hudson River to participate in the water demonstra-
tion in their honor the airmen passed the Wessell,
Nickel & Gross factory. When the fliers passed
through New York en route from Canada to Wash-
ington, Fernando A. Wessell, president of the com-
pany, shook hands with them at the Pennsylvania
station.
