SAUL DORFMAN PLAYS
STEINWAY AT RECITAL
Young Duo-Art Pianist Scores Triumph When
He Plays Before Two Thousand Chil-
dren in High School.
Fifteen-year-old Saul Dorfman gave a recital re-
cently, at which an audience of 2,500 school children
rose on the stage of the Lakcview High School,
Chicago. Lyon & Healy arranged this and numerous
other appearances for Master Dorfman. The Stein-
way Duo-Art Reproducing piano was used, the young
artist alternating in several compositions with his own
recordings. Last year Dorfman was the winner of
the Greater Chicago Piano Playing Tournament.
After his successes at the tournament last year
young Dorfman went to New York, where he made
records of his playing for the Duo-Art. Among the
selections recorded were the Bach-Saint-Saens
Bourree in 1> minor, and "The Chase" of Pagnini-
Liszt. He now plays these numbers on his program
in alternation with the Duo-Art.
Lyon & Healy reports a great deal of enthusiasm
over the appearances of young Dorfman. His pei-
formances engender a widespread interest among chil-
dren and a desire to learn to play the piano.
