Busy Illinois City Considered Good Place for Featur-
ing Line of Band Instruments.
The new home of the Conn Musical Company was
opened last week at 129 North Jefferson street, Peoria,
111. A large electrical sign of a saxophone has been
put up to make the store more conspicuous.
The stock of instruments has been transferred from
the old store at 116 South Adams to the new quarters.
With the change in location two other changes have
also been made by the management. An improved
repair department will be installed enabling the store
to give their customers better and quicker service in
the future. A new department consisting of a special
array of instruments for school, community and com-
mercial bands has been organized.
In contrast with the goods carried before the
change of location, the new store will carry both a
larger and more varied stock of instruments, and to
show these, an informal program was given all last
week.

EXPECT BIG ATTENDANCE.
A good attendance is assured at the mid-year meet-
ing of the National Association of Musical Instrument
and Accessories Manufacturers, judging by the num-
ber of requests for reservations already received by
the secretary. This year the meeting is to be held
at the Greenbriar Hotel at White Sulphur Springs,
W. Va., on March 9 and 10. Many have had their
rooms reserved over Sunday with the view of having
one day in which to enjoy the golf links and the
many other recreational devices at this delightful
resort.

LOOKING FOR VIOLIN TRADE.
"Violin trade might be better," said E. J. Virzi of
E. J. & J. Virzi, violin men at 503 Fifth avenue, New
York, to the Presto-Times eastern representative this
week. '"Still, we keep busy, for this is a central point
and there are always calls from artists."
