PROFIT IN CLARK ROLLS
Clark Orchestra Roll Co. Provides Line for
Coin-Operated Instruments that Assures
Good Income for Owners.
The sales of coin-operated pianos and orchestrions
are of a healthy, spontaneous kind, but wise mana-
gers know they can be stimulated by a good line
of ro'ls like that of the Clark Orchestra Roll Co.,
De Kalb, 111. The most meritorious automatic in-
strument will fail to continue to please the patrons
who drop the coins in the slot except the music they
start to playing is timely, well selected and recorded
with the required snap. The interest in the music
must be kept up or the slot records will fall away.
Providing a steady increase for the player owner
is the big job of the C'ark Orchestra Roll Co. The
company makes a line of rolls for coin-operated in-
struments that keep the interest of the patrons con-
tinuously stimulated. Patrons of every age and de-
gree of musical taste are provided for in the great
variety of selections issued by the De Kalb company.

step out to the most up-to-date tunes that they
demand. The fox trots, waltzes and blues are well
selected and snappily recorded by a proficient corps
of pianists. There is always a good sprinkling of
standard numbers in the monthly bulletins and the
foreign rolls appeal to every shade of national emo-
tion.
Whether a music dealer sells automatic pianos or
not, it will be profitable for him to handle the line of
Clark Orchestra Rolls. They are certain money
makers and often lead to the building up of a good
trade in automatic instruments.
SUNDAY OPERA FEATURES
Innovatons by Chicago Civic Opera Company Inter-
est Teachers and Other Music Lovers.
Teachers have shown great partiality to the Sunday
matinees of the Chicago Civic Opera Company. Now
that a consistent series is to be inaugurated with the
opening of the new season, the Auditorium may be
expected to take on the aspect of a teachers' conven-
tion every Sunday afternoon. The heavy patronage
with which Chicago's 17th annual lyric season starts
also will be responsible for other innovations. A
number of midweek matinees are under discussion,
and there will be either six or seven Friday evening
performances—the other Fridays having been ab-
sorbed by Milwaukee, which will introduce a series
of four scattered Friday evening performances. Alto-
gether some 30 performances will be given in Chi-
cago, in addition to the five subscription series.
The two greatest concerts of the season are at hand
in the coming Sunday, October 23, afternoon of Tito
Schipa, the golden voiced Italian tenor, and the ap-
pearance two weeks later of John McCormack. Both
recitals will take place at the Auditorium Theater
and are under the auspices of the Chicago Civic
Opera Company.
Carrie Jacobs Bond will bring out three new songs
in October.
