When our correspondent called at the executive
offices of The Starr Piano Company, 630 South Hill
street, he was ushered into the private office of the
company and greeted by Mr. Nolder, secretary and
treasurer of the Pacific Coast division of the com-
pany, who introduced him to Mr. Gennett: "Here
is a representative of The Presto-Times of Chicago,
whose late editor, C. A. Daniell, I have known for the
past fifty years." Mr. Gennett said he was always
pleased to meet a representative of Presto-Times.
He further stated that he was very favorably im-
pressed with the business conditions in California and
his family enjoyed the glorious climate, and while
here they w T ould take advantage of many of the nu-

ness with pleasure.
Mr. Gennett further expressed himself as very
highly gratified with the success of the Starr piano
and the Gennett records, all of which were favorably
received throughout the entire Pacific Coast. He
will remain on the Coast until the first of October,
during which time the Los Angeles branch would
promote and extend the Starr pianos and the Gennett
records in a satisfactory manner to meet the large
demand which has been developed in that section.
