Successful Series of Concerts Throughout State Are
Managed by S. Ernest Philpitt & Sons.
Under the auspices of S. Ernest Philpitt & Sons,
Florida representatives for the Aeolian Company,
New York, David Posetzki, the well-known concert
pianist, is appearing with great success in a series
of Duo-Art concerts in leading Florida music centers.
While in Miami he was entertained by Commodore
J. Perry Stoltz, president of the Fleetwood Hotel
Corporation, and a great lover of music, on his yacht
"Fleetwood III." At the invitation of Mr. Stoltz,
Posetzki was a guest of the Fleetwood Hotel, which
is the broadcasting headquarters for Miami, and gave
several concerts there in addition to many others in
that popular territory.
No clew has been found to the thief who took
$132 from the safe of the Wilson Stewart Music
Company, at Indianapolis, Ind., recently. The theft
was found when Miss Rachel Oberlie, an employe,
opened the safe. According to Walter Wilson, man-
ager, the safe was locked the night before. An
investigation showed the combination had been
worked. After taking the money, the thief closed
the safe door and turned the combination, thus lock-
ing the safe.
OPENS FLORIDA BRANCH.
Watkins Bros., the old furniture and piano house
of Connecticut, recently opened a store in St. Peters-
burg, Fla. C. Elmere Watkins, general manager,
makes his headquarters at Manchester, Conn., where
the firm's principal store is located, but supervised
the details in connection with the opening of the
branch.
BRITISH PIANO IMPORTS DECREASED.
British imports of pianos amounted to only 199 in
the third quarter of this year, although during the
first six months they had reached a total of 14,897,
according to a report from the consulate general at
London. This remarkable drop is unquestionably
due to the reimposition of the 33^ per cent import
duty which went into effect July 1.

Display of Straube Piano Co., in Saturday Evening
Post, Creative of the Buying Desire.
A Straube Piano Co.'s ad of great buying sugges-
tiveness in the Saturday Evening Post of December
S is another instance of the effective way in which the
company helps its dealers to make sales. The leading
line of the ad is: "The Gift for All the Family," and
the illustrations alone would convey the thought to
the piano prospect. But every line of the type is cre-
ative of the desire to buy Straube grands, players
and uprights.
The happiness the Straube piano or player brings
to all the family is told in convincing words. The
technical equipment provided the owner by the ex-
clusive Artronome action in the Straube is highly sug-
gestive of pleasure to the musical family and the part
of children in the musical scheme is set forth in a
convincing way: "Good music is your children's
birthright. In the Straube model H piano or Domin-
ion players, there are joy and inspiration," is the plea.
