PRESTO
CONVENTION REPORT
ON STANDARD PITCH
Technical Committee to Give Result of Ques-
tionnaires and Its Own Investigation
at Drake Hotel June 8.
The Technical Committee on Standard of Musical
Pitch of the Music Industries Chamber of Com-
merce, of which Charles Deutschmann is chairman,
which has been working on this subject for some
time, will hold its next meeting during convention
week at Chicago. Since the previous meeting ques-
tionnaires have been sent out to various manufactur-
ers in the trade to get the evidence concerning the
pitch now used so that the committee will be in a
position to make its report based upon actual
evidence.
Nearly sixty questionnaires have already been re-
ceived filled out and they are coming in daily. In
addition, the National Association of Piano Tech-
nicians is gathering information which will be made
available to the committee.
The committee does not expect to make the final
report at the convention as the mass of evidence is
such that a complete report embodying recommen-
dations will take much longer to get up than the
committee at first thought probable.

CALIFORNIA BODY
The annual election resulted as follows: Presi-
dent, Shirley Walker, Sherman, Clay & Co.; first
vice-president, George Q. Chase, Kohler & Chase;

Co. All the officers and directors are from San

A dinner preceded the meeting, which was largely

president, secretary and treasurer showed the suc-
cess and stability of the association and tentative
plans announced assured active interest in legisla-
tive and trade matters during the ensuing year.
