THE ACTION IS HEAVY.
Lincoln, Nebr., Nov. 30, 1924.
Editor Presto: I would like to know what is
meant by Adjustable Piano Key, and who makes it.
and if it can be had for any piano.
Also would like to know if this is something new.
I have heard about il several times lately, but never
have seen one.
1 have a piano with a heavy action. AM the tuners
who have tuned it say nothing can be done for it,
but when I first bought it they said it woald loosen
up, but it failed to do so
1 would like to fuel out" through your magazine
if this would overcome this trouble if there is any-
thing like this that I <-an get a set of those keys and
who has them for sale.
FRANK NEWFAHR.
The term "adjustable key-board" refers to a pat-
ented machine which is said to insure regularity of
touch and which was invented by the superintendent
of one of the large piano fac'.ories. The keyboard
manufactured under the adjustable latent is pro-
duced bv several industries and one of them is the
Apollo Piano Co.
of DeKalb, 111., of which Mr.
Edwin S. Rauw r orth, the inventor, is president. It is
not possible to advise you concerning your piano
further than to suggest that you consult other piano
tuners. They should be competent to loosen the
action though it might taken time and cost you
something.

been in that department of the industry for a good

Editor Presto: We are interested in securing lists
of the individuals engaged in the music industry.

McKINLEY PUBLISHING CO.
Presto Trade List No. 1 is a directory of music
dealers covering the entire country, but the publica-
tion is not a new one and we shall not have a new
edition until early next spring. It is perhaps eighty-
tive per cent correct, however, even now. The price

THE HERBERT PLAYER.
St. Johns, Mich., Nov. 25, 1924.
Editor Presto: Will you please write me who
makes the Herbert playerpiano and where is their
factory?
E. M. SMITH.
The instrument about which you ask is manufac-
tured in the factory of the Kreiter Manufacturing
Co., at Marinette, Wis. The office of the company is
in Milwaukee.
The instrument is a reliable one and the manufac-
turers are in every way responsible.

THE "WARNER" PIANO.
Sandwich, 111., Nov. 26, 1924.
Editor Presto: Will you kindly let me know by
return mail where, and who, manufactured the War-
ner piano. It is manufactured somewhere in New
York, but I am unable to find out who the manufac-
turer is.
W. W. HERALD.
The name "Warner" has appeared on commercial
pianos for a good many years, but its origin has not
been made known to us. Of course the "Werner"
piano is a reliable one, made by the Werner Piano
Co., of Chicago. The ""Warner" is no doubt one of
the countless trade names, of the so called "stencil"
variety, and it may be a durable piano for all that.
OPENS CLEVELAND BRANCH.
The McHann Music Store, in the New Flory

Canton, Ohio, is under the same management as the
McHann Music Store in the Flory Arcade Store in
Alliance, Ohio. The line includes pianos, talking ma-
chines, records, sheet music and small merchandise.
The success of another music store in the new Cleve-
land avenue, N. W., retail district started within the
past year prompted the McHann venture.
