The Talking Machine and Radio Men, Inc., the
trade association of New York, New Jersey and Con-
necticut, held a meeting on Monday of this week to
mark the opening of the radio world's fair at Madi-
son Square Garden and the 69th Regiment Armory.
In attendance at the meeting were radio men from
all over the country.
A feature of the meeting was an exhibition of the
Royalphone, king of all loud speakers. Another ex-
hibition was that of the new products of the Sleeper
Radio Corporation. The members listened to an ad-
dress on the firm's policy by Gordon C. Sleeper, the
president of that company.
Another item was a talk on how to test "B" bat-
teries by W. M. Rosenfeld, of the Diamond Electric
Specialties Co. Through the courtesy of Irving Ber-
lin, stage stars sang the latest numbers of the Berlin
company and other that they will sing during the
coming year.
Immediately after the conclusion of the meeting,
about 2:30, the members in a body attended the
Radio World's Fair, at which unusual features were
run off for their benefit.
Irwin Kurtz, president, provided a reminder:
"About a month ago I sent you a questionnaire. A
number did not answer it. It was in relation to
participating, without expense to you, in the radio
show at which our association is to have a large
booth, to be held November 2nd to 8th at Grand Cen-
tral Palace. If you have not already answered the
questionnaire, will you please answer it at once, and
mail it to my office, 141 Broadway, New York City.
This will be the greatest tie-up for your radio de-
partment you have ever had and will be at no
expense to you."
THE RADIO FRANKS.
The Brunswick Company has announced the first
records by Frank Wright and Frank Bessinger,
known by radio fans the country over as the Radio
Franks. This team's first appearance before a broad-
casting microphone made them an overnight sensa-
tion. Now that they may be heard on Brunswick
records, their popularity will unquestionably be mul-
tiplied many times.
