PRESTO
OHIO STATE CONVENTION
WILL HAVE FINE DISPLAYS
Plans Already Made for Exhibits by a Number of
Industries, Including the Schiller.
The promise is that there will be a good display of
pianos at the Ohio state dealers convention in Cleve-
land, September 9-10. At the Statler Hotel arrange-
ments have already been made for several of the ex-
hibits, among them that of the Schiller Piano Co., of
Oregon, 111.
Of course the feature of the Schiller display will be
the Bauer-Scale Schiller Grand, which has made such
an impression in the trade. It was a star feature at
teh New York and other recent conventions, and it
will create equal interest in Cleveland. Frank M.
Hood will be in charge at Cleveland, and his friends
know what that will mean both to them and the
Schiller piano.
Particulars of the approaching convention of the
Music Merchants' Association of Ohio appeared in
last week's Presto.
OUTING FOR EMPLOYES
OF STEINWAY FACTORY
Pleasant Day for Workers and Their Families at
Indian Point.
The factory employes of Steinway & Sons, New
York, recently enjoyed a day's outing up the Hudson
River. The Dayline steamer "Robert Fulton" was
chartered to carry the picnickers to Indian Point,
where the afternoon was spent in various sports. The
big feature was the baseball game between teams
representing the Riker avenue and th Ditmars avenue
factories, the former team winning by a score of 5 to
3. The players on the winning team were each pre-
sented with a set of military brushes and a silver cup
was awarded to the factory.
Other prizes were provided for those who came in
first, second or third in the various contests, and the
awarde ranged from baseball gloves to silk shirts.
There were also suitable souvenirs for the many chil-

dren who went on the trip. After the various games
at Indian Point ice cream was served and the bal-
ance of the afternoon spent in dancing and bathing.
Close to 3,000 people participated.
F. A. Vietor was chairman of the committee in
charge of arrangements, and saw to it that every
detail of the program was carried out without a
hitch.
