ROCKFORD BAND EQUIPPED WITH THE MARTIN HANDCRAFT
AMERICAN BEAUTY MUSIC HOUSE.
When the splendid Rockford, 111., High School
Band was equipped completely with Martin Hand-
craft instruments the American Beauty Music
House, of Rockford, capitalized the sale by placing
the entire assortment of instruments in their show
window.
The beautiful Handcraft instruments,
artistically placed in the deep windows, made an
unusual "flash," as can be seen by the accompany-
ing cut. Upon the curtained background photo-
graphs of the band were hung, together with a large
reproduction of the Certificate of Highest Award
granted Martin Handcraft instruments at the San
Francisco Exposition.
In deciding upon Martin Handcraft instruments, as
standard equipment for their band, the Rockford
Board of Education got expressions of opinion from
many members of the band. The Rockford Band
is one of the best known high school bands in the
entire country, and their splendid performance at
various gatherings has won for them national prom-
inence. Incidentally the director, John T. Haight,
is regarded as having unusual ability, especially along
the line of developing young players.
A collapsible "Tourist" phonograph ia the latest
development of the Ampliphone factory at Brazil,
Ind. F. H. Knight has developed a novelty for the
tourist and vacationist and others who desire a
small, compact phonograph with the volume of a
large and expensive instrument. It has made a hit
and its manufacturer takes precedence over other
things at the Knight plant.
