PORTABLE RADIO SETS.
Of course the portable radio receiving set should
appear and appeal to a public which loves the out-of-
doors but likes to make use of the pleasures of home
while enjoying nature. The portable phonograph has
been a big seller since its first appearance, and the
radio portable set will appeal to even a greater num-
ber of people. The possibilities for sales, too, are
good when the portable models are given a form of
utmost utility and practicability.
LIMIT IN CHEAPNESS.
The German radio fan can now not only "talk
through his hat/' but can also listen to others talk
through his fedora or derby. Berlin residents can
buy a midget radio set for $1.75. The antenna can
be placed in the owner's hat, so that the set can be
carried anywhere. It is an incident in the fierce strife
for business when about 160 German firms are manu-
facturing amateur radio apparatus and parts.
J. F. BOYER IS GUEST.
During a visit to Milwaukee, Wis., recently James
F. Boyer, secretary of C. G. Conn, Ltd., Elkhart, Ind.,
was the guest of honor at a meeting of musicians at
Sam Pick's Cafe. Many prominent Milwaukee musi-
cians were present and Mr. Boyer stated that Mil-
waukee was noted for the quality of its musical
organizations.
