NEW FRISCO ORGANIZATION
Association of Musical Merchandise Dealers Assured
at Preliminary Meeting Held Last Week.
An organization of musical merchandise dealers in
San Francisco, similar to organizations already suc-
cessful in New York, Chicago and Boston, was
planned at a recent meeting in the Palace Hotel.
The meeting held at the suggestion of Daniel Miller,
manager of the Conn-San Francisco Co. was attended
by representatives of all the music firms in the city.
William Ringen, bead of the band instruments de-
partment of the Wurlitzer Co., was made temporary
chairman and a formal organizing is assured at the
next meeting.
Among the houses represented were Sherman, Clay
& Co., the Wiley B. Allen Co., the H. C. Hanson
Music House, the H. Hausechildt Music Co., the
Conn-San Francisco Co. and the California Band
Instrument Co. Among the speakers was C. D.
Greenleaf, president of C. G. Conn, Ltd., Elkhart,
ADDS DEMONSTRATION FACILITIES.
The Maiarkey Music Store, at 107 N. Centre street,
Pottsville, Pa., will add to its already large floor
space over 1,000 square feet of additional room for
booths for music roll demonstration. This will be
on the second floor, which can be reached by an easy
flight of steps to the rear of the store and will be
entirely devoted to the demonstration of player rolls.
Three electric player pianos will be provided for the
convenience of customers. On the first floor a com-
plete new equipment of booths for the hearing of
records will be erected. In short, these improve-
ments will triple the former accommodations for the
demonstration of player rolls and will double the
number of record booths.

GENNETT RECORD GAZETTE
Fourth Number of Volume 1 Filled with Interesting
Facts for Record Buyers.
The fourth number of the first volume of the Gen-
nett Record Gazette is of even greater interest to
buyers and sellers of Gennett records than the pre-
vious numbers. The new quadrille dance records are
introduced in a clever way with a good line drawing
of an old-time dance. This is printed:
"For those of you who love the memories of the
olden days and others who joy in the knowledge of
times past Gennett Record 5401 of old country dances
will be an inspiration. To its music you may dance
the olden steps as perfectly as our grandfathers and
grandmothers did, you will hear the calls, and know
the stately courtesies of the past. This will provide
home entertainment and indeed entertainment of a
most fascinating kind for any social gathering afford-
ing amusement and pleasure as well as genuinely
healthful exercise for young and old.
"The new Gennett record is a specially designed
recording adapted to permit of the greatest possible
enjoyment of the old for mof dancing and we have
used calls and music best adapted to quadrilles and
square dancing in general. Success in dancing an
olden time dance requires knowledge on the part of
every participant and with our instructions you will
have no difficulty in quickly learning the steps."
Milwaukee's dance orchestras are told about in
another article in the fourth number. A picture
shows Bob Tamm's famous million dollar orchestra.
Gene Bailey, of Bailey's Lucky Seven Orchestra,
answers questions about Gennett records in a special
column conducted by himself.
The Beverly Hills Music Co. was recently formed
in Beverly Hills, Cal.
