CONN TENOR SAXOPHONE
Highly Important Instrument of Band and
Orchestra Developed to High Degree
by C. G. Conn, Ltd.
One of the most important instruments in the
saxophone line is the tenor and the efforts to con-
stantly improve it are unremitting with C. G. Conn,
Ltd., Elkhart, Ind. The Conn tenor has developed
in popularity among professional musicians to a high
degree through the excellence of its tone and perfect
scale. The tenor saxophone possessing these most
needed features used to be difficult to find, but C. G.
Conn, Ltd., has solved the problems.
Today the Conn tenor saxophone is found in use by
the best known saxophonists of the world. Paul
Biese, Isham Jones, Albert Knecht, Renato Starita
and Hale Byers are all Conn saxophone users and
admirers. The Conn tenor with the latest improve-
ments is considered an ideal instrument for both band
and orchestra.
Isham Jones, of the Isham Jones Chicago Orches-
tra, a household name today through the Brunswick
Talking Machine Company records, says this about
the Conn:
"I find my Conn tenor saxophone the most remark-
able instrument I have ever had. I congratulate
you."
Albert A. Knecht, for a number of years with
Sousa's Band as principal saxophonist, is at present
a member of the Henton-Knecht Music Company, of
Philadelphia, agents for the Conn instruments. This
is Mr. Knecht's opinion:
. "I can truthfully and frankly state that in my
opinion the Conn is the best saxophone I have ever
used and unquestionably the best saxophone you have
ever turned out."
Al Starita and his brothers, Renato and Rudy, with
their piano accompanist, comprise a quartette that is
widely known. Al and Renato are using the Conn
alto and tenor saxophone, which are being featured
in this novel combination, while recording records for
a phonograph company in Boston. Al Starita writes:
"As you know, my orchestra is entirely equipped
with your instruments, all of which are the finest we Installation of Musical Merchandise Department

saxophones in this portion of our orchestra, and they
are making good in our recording work."
The spread of favor for the music goods sideline
among department stores is a recognition of the big
possibilities for profits in the goods. It is one of the
most conclusive arguments for a like course by the
