Universal Appeal.
Q R S Idylls is the title of a new booklet containing
thoughts cleverly framed by an advertising genius
who sees the motive in events the commonplace mind
would consider negligible. The feeling of inanimate
things, the voice of the woods, the fragrance of the
spruce and the miracle that transforms the giant tree
into fine paper. This is printed:
"Were you ever just beside that hedgerow some
bright, still Sunday morning? Hear the faint melody
of a distant chime wafted on a breeze carrying along
the incense of a soft summer morn? Sense the mem-
ory of a time that never was, and a yearning groping

go back there for a spell.
"No—just stay where you are and have it out all
alone with the wraith of Stephen Foster. 'Twas just

and the melody of the distant chime.

"Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but it's all real to me—

your fairy story as well as mine, now, just come true.
