of many years previous.

SMALL PHONOGRAPHS IN MEXICO.
As the great majority of the native population of
Mexico is comparatively poor, the sale of high-class
phonographs is limited to only a small minority. All
classes, however, are great lovers of music, and con-
sequently a very good market exists for the sale of
moderately priced phonographs, retailing from 25 to
50 pesos. During the past few months several dif-
ferent makes of phonographs have been placed on
the market, which arc being readily sold to the lower
classes. They are being advertised in the press and
are handled by mail-order houses with offices in Mex-
ico City and other centers.
