....... Brady Di!-.tributing Co. in Charlotte, N.C., has bought "certain assets" of Florida's
Belam Southeast Distributing Corp., according to President Jon Brady. The deal, however,
won't be officially closed until late February, he said. "The Belam name will remain for the
time being; we'll probably add 'a division of Brady Distributing' later on.·· Brady said .
Belam, which has offices in Miami and Orlando, will continue to be run by Bob Haim.
"Everyone will stay in place; in fact. we're going to be adding employees," Brady said .

faces alone may not be enough to identify them. What are we driving at? Well, we
inadvertently forgot to mention the four Grayhound representatives who appeared on our

. . . . . . On Feb . I, Florida Amusement/ Vending Association (FA VA) representatives and
officials from the Dept. of Business Regulation met to di. cuss the state attorney general·-,
opinion letter regarding the legality of cranes. Though the opinion is not law, it docs carry a
lot of weight. A":. a result of the meeting, the following points can be made: I) The
Department's Division of Alcohol and Tobacco will take no enforcement action regarding the
legality of crane games prior to June 30, 1989; 2) Between now and June 30, FAVA and the
Department will schedule a series of meetings to promulgate guidelines regarding the legal
operation of crane games on premises licensed by the Department; and 3) ll is the opinion or
the Departmenr and the attorney general that if a crane game offers any clement of chance in
determining a player's ability to obtain a prize, that game is illegal under existing statutes .
After June 30, such games will be subject to confiscation; the premises on which the game is
located would face penaltie":i against its license. The presence or any obvious clements of
chance will make the game illegal under the attorney general's opinion. Also, no grace period
has been given by the attorney general. fot information on whether your game may be illegal.
