Success in a Special Market
46
The sixth annual AOE opens in New Orleans, and here's a small caveat of
what this year's spring show has to offer.
While arcades have come and gone all around, one arcade is still
reporting strong business. The reason? The operator refused to give in to
trends and stayed with his original plan-to market his arcade for a certain
clientele. Now that operating approach is reaping dividends.

48

before he can undertake a management audit. Consultant Richard
Priesmeyer fills in what else the operator must examine to make an
evaluation of his business.

Cover: New Orleans, the city where old and new blend strangely together, is the site
for AOE '85-where the industry is trying to blend old and new to create a coin-op
renaissance.
