A Star
Perfo
hat an occasion, when Johann
Christian Bach gave the world's first piano
recital in London in 1768 ! But it is doubtful
if Bach received any more rapt attention than
that accorded a child by his parents on the
occasion of his first public performance. Many
an adult can remember the hours of practice
that preceded the great occasion, and remem-
bers too the name lettered in gold on the fall-
board of the family piano. Often it was Conover,
Cable, Schiller, Kingsbury or Wellington, for
these are names of pianos which have been
used and enjoyed by four g e n e r a t i o n s of
Americans. This makes it easy to sell today's
customers a piano made by Schiller-Cable —
they well know its reputation for beauty oi
design and fine musical performance.
