On pages 14 and 15 of this National De-
fense Number the REVIEW has tried to
show both the piano and the organ in use
in as many walks of American Life as it
has been possible to procure photographs
of. The REVIEW is indebted to all those
who have helped in collecting these
photos including the National Broadcast-
ing Co.. Radio City Music Hall, the
United Service Organization, U. S. Army
and U. S. Navy as well as the manufac-
turers and dealers in the industry.
The army pictures include one of Ger-
trude Ely playing the piano and sur-
rounded by selectees from Camp Bland-
ing, Fla. in the Army "Y" at Starck and
another shows local girls singing with
soldiers around a piano in a U.S.O. rec-
reation center. One group of selectees is
listening to Sidney Willoughby demon-
strate the Hammond Organ at Fort Meyer,
Va. Two other army pictures were taken
at Fort Dix, N. J. when private Cliif Good-
man of New Rochelle, N. Y. was accom-
panying Jack Leonard.
