Davidson Co., Des Moines, la., made this
sale.

The Board of Education, School District
of Philadelphia, Pa. has recently pur-
chased 25 York pianos, manufactured by
the Weaver Piano Co., York, Pa., to add to
their equipment for this school term. The
full significance of this order is that York
pianos are well known to the Philadelphia
school authorities. In January 1937, they
made their first quantity purchase of 42
York pianos. This was followed by the
purchase of 5 additional York pianos in
1939. The present purchase, therefore,
makes a total of 72 York pianos purchased
by this one School District in a period of
less than 5 years.

Mrs. Hagemeyer Passes Away
Mrs. Emily Hagemeyer, widow of the
late August Hagemeyer, who for many
years was treasurer of Hardman Peck &
Co., New York, passed away at the Lenox
Hill Hospital in New York on September
5th. She was 76 years of age. She is sur-
vived by five sons, Edward, Frank, Harold,
and Joseph, nine grandchildren and a sis-
ter. Four of her sons are connected with
Hardman Peck & Co., Harold Hagemeyer
being wholesale sales manager.
Funeral services were held at the
Church of the Holy Nativity, New York.
