Festival, April 12-13

to the extent of $6,500 by fire recently.
JACKSON, MISS., March 4.—Plans for the
annual State tournament of school bands were
discussed at a conference held at the Chamber
of Commerce rooms here to-day. The tourna-
ment will probably be held in Jackson either
the week following the convention of Missis-
sippi Education Association in April or in May.
Superintendents Chastain, of Laurel; Heidel-
berg, of Clarksdale; Mackey of Clinton; H. D.
Nevill, director of fhe Jackson Boys' Band, and
Miss Minnie B. Austin, State supervisor of
music, were among those attending the meeting.
E. J. Dechert is head of the Llano Music Co.,
recently opened for business in Llano, Tex.

March 3.—The fourth annual
Kentucky High School Music Festival, spon-
sored by the University of Kentucky, depart-
ment of extension, will be held at the Univer-
sity, April 12-13. The festival is open to music
departments in all of the high school depart-
ments of junior colleges. Louis Clifton, of the
