Milwaukee Victor Dealers
Hold Sales Conference
Meeting Under Auspices of Badger Talking
Machine Co. Held in That City to Discuss
Sales Policies
MILWAUKEE, WIS., April 3.—About seventy-five
music dealers from Milwaukee and the North-
west attended the Victor dealers' meeting held
by the Badger Talking Machine Co., Milwaukee
distributor for Victor merchandise, last week.
The meeting was held in the gold room of
the Wisconsin Hotel, with H. A. Goldsmith,
secretary of the Badger Talking Machine Co.,
presiding. A "Message from Mr. Schumaker,"
president of the Victor Co., delivered from a
Victor record, opened the meeting.
The presentation of the new model 8-35 was
one of the interesting features of the meeting,
and was made by William R. Lewis, district
sales manager for Victor. He presented the
company's plans for the near future, and pointed
out the features of the new model, which, he
said, represented a revolutionary change in cab-
inet design.
The possibilities a well-organized service de-
partment represents on a dealer's establishment,
from both a sales and service angle, formed the
subject of a talk by Mr. McGarrey, service
engineer from Camden, N. J. Other speakers on
the program were Geoffrey J. Daley, Wisconsin
representative for the Victor, speaking on
record merchandising, and giving actual com-
parisons and statistics compiled from various
stores; and Otto Schopen, sales representative
of the Badger Talking Machine Co., who talked
on the value which continual demonstrations of
the new instruments hold forth.
Following the meeting Mr. Goldsmith sug-
gested holding an open forum, and the dealers
took advantage of this opportunity to ask the
factory men questions regarding construction
points and merchandising features.

CLEVELAND, O., March 31.—The Wolfe Music
Co. is now located in its new home at 2112
Euclid avenue. For the past eighteen years the
company has conducted a retail music business
at 641 Prospect avenue, and the reason for its
move was that the business had outgrown the
old quarters. Its new home was especially
built for it and recently completed. It is a
three-story modern brick building with abund-
ant floor space.
