urging that more attention be paid to musical
standards in the church, and pleading for a
fuller use of the denomination's official hymnal
instead of unauthorized publications through
which shoddy music had come into vogue.

the theological seminaries, with a view to hav-
ing music and hymnody taught on a better basis
to the prospective clergymen. According to the
discipline of the church, the clergy are to be
chairmen of the music committees in their re-
spective local churches. The Methodist Com-

Broadway—Harms, Inc., the Publisher
The musical comedy "Oh, Kay!" now being
played at the Imperial Theatre, New York, has
at least two songs that have won immediate
popularity. These are "Clap Yo' Hands" and
"Do Do Do." It might be expected that this
production would include some song hits as
none other than George Gershwin is credited
with the music, and the lyrics are by Ira Gersh-
win. The book is by Guy Bolton and P. G.
Wodehouse. The other song numbers in the
show are "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Show
Me the Town," "Maybe," "Oh, Kay," "Heaven
on Earth" and "Fidgety Feet." The score is
